Books
Room with Finn Juhl furniture and lots and lots of books. It’s worth reprinting this Anna Quindlen quote on books:
“I would be most content if my children grew up to be the kind of people who think decorating consists mostly of building enough bookshelves.”
~Anna Quindlen, “Enough Bookshelves,” New York Times, 7 August 1991.
Photo via Kelly Lynn Waters’ blog Halcyon Days, where I also first saw a photo of this book-filled bedroom.
And while on the topic of books, I can’t even explain why I love the etching below so much, but every house should have a copy. Even if it is, like mine, a xerox on newsprint found in thrift and posted on the fridge.
One problem with ebooks is no more owls on books on donkeys.

I think I have to design a huge poster with that quote on it and hang it in my art department. Thank you!!

Another great post, Lindsay and I couldn’t agree more about the room full of books (and owls and donkeys….)

Thanks, Beth.
Similarly, I have a friend who was made v. nervous by his friend’s precarious book piles:

If you click on the photo you can read his original flickr tags, which never cease to make me laugh.
(Your site is beautiful by the way.)
