Noel Fielding’s Luxury Comedy is Fielding’s followup project after The Mighty Boosh. Luxury Comedy is a series of fantastical comedy sketches, all of which star Fielding. In this one, longtime collaborator Richard Ayoade and Noel play music producers Tod Michaels (a hammerhead shark) and Tony Reason (a ray).
See their pair of scenes below: the first (on why you shouldn’t hire a ginger drummer) is at 14:10 – 16:35. The second on whether blond bands are any good or not is even better, 18:29-20:23.
The beautiful animation is by Noel’s co-creator of the show and old art school friend Nigel Coan. Like much of the animation in the show, it combines sophisticated techniques and a kind of lo-fi handmade quality in a manner that owes something to Monty Python but is clearly its own thing.
More comedy genius and lo fi effects from Noel Fielding when he plays the moon in The Mighty Boosh.
