Another note on prices:
Not all pillows are created equal. Our prices reflect the excellent quality of our collectible vintage textiles, the labour involved in searching them out and resuscitating them, the fact that our pillows are the same fabric front and back (this is unusual for pillows, which generally use cheap secondary backings), and the high quality and longevity of our craftsmanship, our threads, zippers and filings. All our pillows are made from vintage or salvaged textiles, or occasionally from new organic, sustainably-produced fabrics (organic cotton or bamboo). They are meant to last and become heirlooms.
Many items do not come in multiples - please ask about availability before ordering multiples unless quantities are made clear. Note that square pillowcases, especially 20", may actually be very slightly smaller; we do this to ensure that pillows look and remain well-stuffed when re-filled with standard-size replacement inserts. If you would like to order without the inserts, our prices will be reduced by $10-$20 and shipping will be much cheaper. Square inserts are easy to find; rectangular are not. Please inquire.
We use clean feather filling, not foam, unless requested otherwise. We also offer organic bamboo filling for an extra surcharge of $20. We have experimented with new natural fillings such as kapok, bamboo and natural latex, but we currently feel that not only are these materials still very expensive, they also do not perform nearly well enough - they are hard, lumpy, very heavy or feel like bad foam or those old-fashioned rag fillings. These are well-known issues in the sustainable textiles industry. We are eagerly waiting for the second generation of sustainable fillings to solve some of the problems of the first. Please ask us if you prefer bamboo or a combination of bamboo and feather or foam.
Our return policy is excellent. If it doesn't work, send it back to us for full refund, minus the cost of return shipping. Refunds are issued upon our receipt of items.
Prices and Shipping
Oblong pillows are more expensive because they're non-standard, and custom pillow inserts cost us more.

All our pillows have the same fabric both sides unless noted. Many of the vintage scarf pillows shown above have a different collectible scarf on the reverse.

These are reversible feather-filled floor pillows, all approx 31" x 32".
Shibori is the Japanese technique of tied resist, an old and very sophisticated form of tye dye. These large textile squares were produced at one of the last studios in Japan still doing their own authentic indigo-dyeing using shibori methods. Each pillow top is made from a collectible square of shibori - these were produced for decorative purposes or for fancy furoshiki. The other side of each pillow is made from an authentic japanese indigo "noren" or doorway curtain, in identical indigo tones.
These pillows are substantial enough to be considered furniture. They are well-stuffed, reinforced and sturdy. While feather-filled, they have a small foam core for additional comfort and a small amount of springiness.

Agent 99 Pillow - spy decor.
This Agent 99 was made from a high-end London Fog English gabardine vintage trench, with all the straps and hardware. This is a masculine, cool, pillow, and funny, too, a decor novelty and conversation piece. It has the original coat pockets and flaps so you can hide things in it (each pillows is different).
