I found this photo via two of my favourite tumblr blogs, breeapperley and self-romance. Mabel from self-romance tells me this is from the Swedish architecture firm Tham & Videgård Hansson Arkitekter, who are at the moment probably most well-known for their mirrored treehouse.

Reference Library is much less academic than it sounds

The founder of referencelibrary says his blog was born out of his eBay disappointments, as a sort of consolation catalogue of all the things he didn’t win. The photos tagged “Items I Didn’t Win” are so beautiful you can almost feel his disappointment. He has a really good eye, and you can easily imagine how nice his place must be despite his losses.

I found this on the consistently entertaining blog deletia. It was taken from Rolcats, a site featuring fake English translations of an Eastern Bloc version of Lolcats. Rolcats makes Lolcats look very, very amateur, which granted is not difficult. Below is the translation of the caption above, and deletia’s response:

Miles of stairs.

From the blog stair porn, which as the name suggests is all about nothing but stairs. Via hellobauldoff. Included in this interesting collection is a set of exterior steps on the Greek island of Andros by RC Tech; Roger Tallon’s famous cast aluminum staircase of 1964, now in the MOMA; and a spiral staircase above by SAANA, in the Netherlands.
