Slow was a legendary 80s Vancouver band sometimes credited with spawning grunge. That is pretty impossible to prove (or disprove), but no one seems to dispute that they had an influence on Nirvana, Pearl Jam and the whole Pacific NW thing.

This post is a personal addendum to our earlier post about a discussion amongst readers of another design blog about whether one designer had copied or “borrowed” another designer’s idea. We certainly didn’t mean to imply that the second designer copied the first, because those things are impossible to know, and he may well not have, and in any case his design diverged significantly from hers.

Faceted Curtain vs. Magnetic Curtain – copycat?

Many people will have probably seen the Magnetic Curtain designed in 2008 by Florian Kräutli. His curtain is not in production yet but will soon be available through Droog Design. Its function is simple – it’s raised, lowered or pulled aside by manually accordioning its magnetic nodes together or apart.
