  1. Great pictures of Arthur Erickson’s work. We don’t realize the breadth and ceativity of him until we see some of these images.

    I was an architectural student of his in the early 60’s at UBC. I remember one afternoon at UBC when he just got his (large format) slides of the Filberg house and he invited all of us to see them. We realized then we were in the ‘presence of greatness’. A few years later I was lucky enought to go on a ‘field trip’ to Vancouver Island where we stayed overnight (at the just-photographed-for-Canadian-Homes) Filberg House. Of course Arthur stayed in the one and only bedroom. We slept on the terrazo floors in the Living and Dining areas – the house and its site were, and still are, magical.
