My aunt just brought me a bottle of Left Coast Hemp Vodka which is produced here in British Columbia. There are several levels of excellent design and craft involved in it: the vodka itself, the label, and also the distiller’s great logo, a stylized still.

Recent radio silence has been the result of being either too busy in the city, or too unbusy and computerless while on various islands.

Today I learned that the term dog days is very old, a translation from the latin dies caniculares.

This woodpecker is the Red-breasted Sapsucker, and it’s pecking on the house today. It’s not actually looking for bugs; it is tapping (very loudly) in order to find a mate.
