[Can someone please explain why they do this to the cacti? It seems to have a function. Beyond entertainment.]

PS It’s surprising how many Arizonians I had to ask before I got the same answer you dug up (the same day you provided the answer). Despite the fact that these cups are everywhere, many people had no idea what they were for.
I was actually just at Taliesin West on the 6th! Just missed each other 😉 Anyway, I was impressed with what I saw and the weather couldn’t have been better. Thanks for sharing all your photos as I didn’t do the full blown 3 hour tour.
