It’s not clear who would have room for a large inflatable cloud at home, but technically we do actually have room for this in our studio and we’d love to have it, if we could afford it. It’s by Monica Förster, a Swedish designer who has produced furniture and accessories for E&Y Japan, Poltrona Frau and Tacchini. Her Cloud Room inflates and deflates easily and is supposedly restful to be around, which would be its only purpose apart from sitting around looking beautiful. Forster says she was trying to reproduce the feeling of being among the clouds while flying in an airplane. In a slightly more practical vein, Mix (below) has a more obvious function – it’s both a bowl and a vase, and it mixes plastic with glass in an interesting way.
