Karikomi – Japanese abstract topiary – from the ever-interesting ii-ne-kore blog out of Australia by way of Japan. “ii ne kore is a shorthand version of kore wa ii desu ne, an expression of appreciation or delight in japanese.” That is how I feel when I look at these.

thanks so much for the mention! your comment on the karikomi post also triggered another topiary memory: http://ii-ne-kore.blogspot.com/2009/10/one-more-karikomi.html
ii-ne-kore, those ones are beautiful too! And thanks again. I think one reason I like looking at your blog is that somehow you manage to find things that appear to have nothing to do with consumerism or the application of too much money, and everything to do with thoughtful design. It’s an escape hatch into a saner place.
loving this!!
