Wow. The effect of money on behaviour, and why BMWs are less likely to stop for you at a crosswalk.

Great video shot on Hallowe’en, October 31, 2013. Over 1000 dolphins swim alongside a BC Ferries vessel on its way to Vancouver through Georgia Strait.
CBC report confirms they’re Pacific white-sided dolphins which usually congregate farther out to sea.

Lorem Ipsum text by designer Steph Borel.
At a party last night someone asked what the Lorem Ipsum dummy text passage actually means, and despite studying latin for years (anything to get out of math), and despite seeing this dummy text all the time, I realized I had no idea.

Fantastically small tax on fantastically huge banking profits would yield fantastically large public revenue for supporting the poor. This is a campaign from 2010. What happened to this discussion?

OK, I don’t mind quotation, reference, homage and what have you. But let’s just point out that the 2013 song “The Fox,” also known as “What Does the Fox Say” by Norwegian comedy outfit Ylvis, pretty obviously owes a debt to the 2003 “Mod Wolves” sequence from UK comedy TV series The Mighty Boosh.

Bigger slump and bigger wars and a smaller recovery
Huger slump and greater wars and a shallower recovery
Dum, dum, dum, de dum dum
De duh de duh de dum dum dum, ah ah
Lyrics of Ping Pong by Stereolab, 2006:
It’s alright, ’cause the historical pattern has shown
How the economical cycle tends to revolve
In a round of decades three stages stand out in a loop
A slump and war then peel back to square one and back for more
Bigger slump and bigger wars and a smaller recovery
Huger slump and greater wars and a shallower recovery
You see the recovery always comes ’round again
There’s nothing to worry for things will look after themselves
It’s alright, recovery always comes ’round again
There’s nothing to worry if things can only get better
There’s only millions that lose their jobs
And homes and sometimes accents
There’s only millions that die in their bloody wars, it’s alright
It’s only their lives and the lives of their next of kin that they are losing
It’s only their lives and the lives of their next of kin that they are losing
It’s alright, ’cause the historical pattern has shown
How the economical cycle tends to revolve
In a round of decades, three stages stand out in a loop
A slump and war then peel back to square one and back for more
Bigger slump and bigger wars and a smaller recovery
Huger slump and greater wars and a shallower recovery
Don’t worry be happy things will get better naturally
Don’t worry, shut up, sit down, go with it and be happy
Dum, dum, dum, de dum dum
De duh de duh de dum dum dum, ah ah
Dum, dum, dum, de dum dum
De duh de duh de dum dum dum, ah ah
