‘Mr. Susan’ in the “Mirror World” – this scene from the BBC’s The Mighty Boosh is a pretty good introduction to this cult BBC TV show. The show, the surreal adventures of two London zookeepers’, features DIY production and costume design that owes a lot to comedian Noel Fielding, one of the show’s two actor/writers.

I saw Dylan Moran perform at the Edingburgh festival in the mid 1990s. In an moment of near infatuation or more accurately addiction I had to go back the next night and see him do the same show again.

Apologies to non-Canadian readers, but I need to address our national broadcaster. Dear CBC, Canadians need much more Seán Cullen on CBC radio, and much less Stuart McLean. Why do we have to wait until summer to listen to Simply Seán on the radio?

It’s January 2 and this is going to be my motivational video for the year. It’s a Japanese animation featuring Kikkoman, a superhero from Planet Soy. Granted, the battle cry “destroy all foreign sauces!” is pretty iffy in 2009.
